Our Caucus brought Karla Hernández, Charlie Crist running mate visited Sarasota on 9/13!

Born and raised in Miami, Karla Hernández is a first-generation American of Honduran descent and is the first Hispanic officer to be elected as President of the United Teachers of Dade, the largest teachers’ union in the southeastern United States. Prior to becoming president, Karla served as UTD’s Secretary-Treasurer from 2013-2016. Before that, Karla worked as a classroom teacher for over 10 years teaching special needs children, and in 2010 she was selected as Teacher of the Year at Hialeah Middle School.
